FREERIDE

ANY BOAT, ANY WATER CONDITION

Marcus Brown, Dave Wingerter and Bob LaPoint took a different approach to ski design. They stepped back to look at where and how most boaters and waterskiers spent their time. These people weren’t tucked away on private man-made lakes with ski specific boats where most in the competitive waterski community exclusively reside. They were out on larger public lakes, rivers and waterways, behind everything from wakeboard boats to jet skis to fishing boats. From there, the design team developed technology that specifically enhanced the ski experience for free-skiers on these variable water conditions. Since its release in 2012, the Freeride has become the standard in open water waterskiing and continues to encourage waterski exploration the world over.

Water skiers look at the world with a different set of eyes. Every lake, cove, river or puddle we see, we wonder, could we ski here? More often than not, access to the right boat, less than optimum water conditions and not having the right equipment for the job, stop us from exploring the possibility. HO Skis imagines a world where every body of water can be skied! The Freeride was created to do just that! The completely out-of-the-box design of the Freeride has rewritten the rules for water ski speeds, boats and water conditions. The water ski future is now wide open. Where will you take your skiing.

WHAT TYPE OF SKIER ARE YOU?
HO has found that there are 3 basic types of Slalom Skiers based on their environment and preference.
A Course Skier skis primarily in the slalom course and in the tournament arena. Their ski feature needs include tight angle turns and responsive agility to handle maximum speed and load. Waterski equipment in the Syndicate Collection include the VTR waterski, vMAX waterski bindings, the Legend and Victoria waterski jackets, 41 tail and Legend & Angel waterski gloves and the Syndicate Knotless mainline waterski tow-rope and 41 tail handle.
A Cross Skier skis part time in courses and part time in the open water. This skier aspires to move up to the course arena or often skis at settings where no course is available. Their ski feature needs include efficiency and versatility. Waterski gear in the Crossover Collection include the CX & TX waterskis, xMAX water ski boots, Team life vests, world cup waterski gloves, LTD waterski rope & handle package.
A Free skier skis primarily in open water such as big lakes and rivers. Their ski feature needs include carve-ability and range, as their ski needs to cut through the most diverse waters and keep the ride smooth and free. Watersports Equipment in the Freeride Collection include the Freeride water skis, freeMAX waterski bindings, Pursuit life jackets, Pro Grip water ski gloves and Extreme or PowerGrip waterski tow ropes.
For example: if you enjoy slaloming the course, turning buoys, and going for gold at tournaments you'll need a different ski setup than someone who enjoys cruising the big lakes and rivers and ripping turns in the open water. "But I like to do all of those things!" you say? Well, we make skis specific to cross-over types as well. No matter where, when, or how you ski, we make a line specifically tailored for you!
